Social Saturday 2018 will be taking place on 13 October - make sure to save the date!
Now entering its fifth year, Social Saturday is the biggest country wide initiative dedicated to celebrating and raising awareness of UK social enterprises - businesses which trade to meet a social or environmental purpose.
Since it was launched in 2014 Social Saturday has gone from strength to strength reaching millions of people through local events, national and regional media coverage and through online platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. The campaign is a chance to shine a spotlight on social enterprises and show the difference they are making in communities across the country.
The last few years have seen a dramatic growth in the social enterprise movement. They are tackling head-on some of the biggest challenges we are face as a nation from homelessness and the housing crisis to climate change. They are helping re-generate communities, creating jobs and opportunities for those who need them most and leading the way in workplace diversity. If we are to truly create inclusive growth, then the social enterprise model is one to be embraced.
Social Saturday 2018 will be Saturday 13th October. There will be events happening throughout the week from Monday 8th so save the date and start planning your Social Saturday activity
