On your marks events organised by the Hertfordshire Get Set project
The Building Better Opportunities programme is jointly funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Big Lottery to deliver projects that promote social inclusion and tackle poverty. Hertfordshire Community Foundation is working with our Herts Community Solutions partners to deliver theHerts Get Set project.Herts Get Set is supported by the Big Lottery's Programme Development Fund to help voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises to participate in Building Better Opportunities.
We are particularly keen to encourage participation by organisations who specialise in the provision of advice, training and other interventions to support the identified priority beneficiary groups for Hertfordshire tackle their barriers to employment and move closer to the job market. The key groups are: Young people aged 16-24 who are or are at risk of being marginalised; Adults with specific or multiple needs that present barriers to employment; Individuals needing help with issues such as debt, housing, childcare etc. The events and support will also be of benefit to VCS infrastructure organisations who can provide support and capacity-building services for frontline delivery organisations and/or who are considering leading partnerships.
On Your Marks Events
We are providing half day events across the county with a choice of 4 dates and venues. There was a lot of interest in the initial VCSE workshop hosted by the Hertfordshire LEP on 13th November. Our On Your Marks events aim to provide an update on the opportunities and the Big Lottery's approach to awarding and managing projects. Hertfordshire County Council will also introduce opportunities for the VCS to have a greater involvement in service delivery. The dates and locations of the events are listed below - click on the relevant link for more information on the programmes and to register.
