Community Land Trusts:               Enabling Affordable Housing

This event has been developed by Norfolk County Council, North Norfolk District Council and Community Action Norfolk to introduce Community Land Trusts as an excellent mechanism for enabling affordable housing development in rural areas, especially where housing supply is limited.  Speakers from Community Land Trusts, Hastoe Housing Association and Community Action Norfolk will provide the national context, a range of relevant case studies and help us to explore the opportunities going forward.  

 

The event supports the delivery of the Norfolk Rural Development Strategy.  It is aimed at community groups, landowners and local councils interested in supporting the development of affordable housing.

 

Sessions will include:

 

'Introducing CLTs: the East Cambridgeshire model' -  Debbie Wildridge, Palace Green Homes

'CLTs and Housing Associations' - John Lefever, Hastoe Housing Association

'Community Land Trust projects in Lincolnshire' -  John Mather, Lincolnshire CLT

'Homes for Wells - the Norfolk case study' - Jim Ferguson, Trustee, Homes for Wells

'CLT Development in Norfolk so far' -  Rik Martin, Community Action

'The CLT opportunity in Norfolk: next steps?'
