Volunteering Opportunities available with Dementia Adventure
Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and develop skills all whilst being part of a friendly and enthusiastic team. Dementia Adventures acknowledges that it wouldn't be able to provide the level of support that it does without its incredible team of volunteers and so recognises their fantastic contribution by making sure they are fully supported, which includes a volunteers training course. The course, made possible by players of the People's Postcode Lottery, is held at its offices near Chelmsford.
Dementia Adventure aims to ensure that everyone who then goes on to volunteer with the organisation has increased understanding, awareness and confidence to actively engage more people living with dementia with nature and the outdoors to enable them to retain a sense of adventure in their lives. One volunteer has previously described the training as "educational and inspiring" whilst another commented that "it was so valuable and brilliant. I want more people to know about it."
The next dates for volunteer training are:
13th & 14th March and 19th & 20th April - from 9am to 5pm with lunch provided.
The number of days training is dependent on the role the volunteer is undertaking. The full two days are applicable to volunteers joining the organisation to provide support on their programme of holidays.
