Suffolk  Social Enterprise - Realise Futures CIC makes it to Moscow!

Realise Futures CIC was selected as one of 12 delegates from over 60 applicants UK wide to participate in the Easy Jet and British Chamber of Commerce Trade Mission to Moscow on March 18-20th. The Ipswich based company was the only Social Enterprise and the only Business from Suffolk to be selected.


The Trade Mission coincided with the inaugural Easy Jet flight to Moscow designed to open up new business opportunities within the country.


The visit consisted of meetings with local Russian Companies and presentations from British companies already doing business in Russia. The main event of the mission, a business to
business event from GB and Russian companies was held at the British Embassy and guests were greeted by the British Ambassador, Head of the UK Trade and
Investment team in Russia and the CEO of Easy Jet.


Realise Futures - Eco Services Division which makes furniture from recycled plastic generated considerable trade interest during the visit and Sarah Sharlott - CEO Realise
Futures met with a Russian Furniture Company - Ministero Bella Vista.


Technology at the British Embassy, enabled  Sarah to contact Eco Services in Ipswich immediately and some bespoke options were developed leading to staff at the Company's base  contacting the Russian company on the same day and in Russian to showcase their product range.  Communication has continued between Realise Futures and the Moscow based company .since returning to the UK.

Sarah Sharlott also met with Senior Trade Advisors at the UKDTI to discuss further market research for Eco Services products over the next few months.

Since joining the WTO Russia is keen to open its markets to the UK in particular and the demand for imports of UK goods and services is growing. Russia is due to host a number of sporting events including the 2014 Winter Olympics and is keen to showcase what Russia
has to offer the rest of the world.

With continuing discussions  with businesses in Russia, Realise Futures - Eco Services Division, based in  Suffolk could be leading the way in recycled outdoor plastic furniture exports  to Russia!
