CDS Helping Crisis at Christmas' Volunteer Dentists
Community Dental Services (CDS) will once again help the national charity Crisis at Christmas by providing two fully equipped Mobile Dental Units to their dental teams volunteering to treat the homeless of London.
The Mobile Dental Units are designed to be accessible for everyone and will be positioned at Chalk Farm over the Christmas period.
Last year, 393 dental consultations took place including 109 extractions; 218 permanent fillings placed and 118 receiving preventative fluoride varnish application. In addition to this, guests were directed to where they could access NHS dental treatment in London during the rest of the year.
Alison Reid, CDS's Chief Executive, said
"CDS are proud to support the work of Crisis at Christmas by the free loan of our two Mobile Dental Units. Partnership working is a core ethos of ours and at CDS we pride ourselves on our unique approach as a social enterprise, with our values being central to who we are and what we do. Assisting with this important work fits exactly with our social mission and our ethos of caring for our patients, many of who are the most vulnerable in society."
Nahush Shah, a dental volunteer at Crisis said:
"Thank you very much for your continued generosity to Crisis Christmas and the vulnerable guests we see each year. We really value the use of your two mobile dental units and their equipment as without this we wouldn't be able to reach so many people each year."
